On episode 73 of the Atlantic City and Casino Biz Podcast, Kyle and Craig talk about the latest on Hard Rock, Ocean, sports betting, and gambling revenue. Plus, we invite you to come meet us at Ocean Resort Casino at 6 p.m. on June 28th to grab some drinks and talk about the new casinos. We’re planning to meet at the main casino bar at Ocean, but we don’t know what that bar is called yet. Hopefully such a bar exists.
Hard Rock and Ocean news:
- Scores strip club and Robert’s Steakhouse (previously at Taj Mahal) will be back at Hard Rock.
- Hard Rock announced their player’s club tier match.
- So did Ocean.
- Other Ocean stuff:
- Little Water Distillery will give free tours and tastings to anyone who makes a purchase at Hard Rock or Ocean from June 28th to July 1st.
Sports Betting news:
- Betting started on June 14th at 10 a.m. at Monmouth Park, then at Borgata at 11 a.m. that day.
- Rules have been carved out so that MGM and Caesars can take bets despite stakes in pro sports teams.
- Golden Nugget was originally left out but got a last-minute change; still can’t take NBA bets.
- Resorts has partnered with DraftKings.
- Meadowlands won’t be able to take NFL bets on game days when the Giants or Jets are home.
- MGM announced plans to buy Empire City Casino in Yonkers, N.Y., shortly after the Supreme Court ruling on sports betting.
