I work in NYC and my company has an office in Bethlehem so I find myself at Sands/Windcreek Bethlehem once or twice a year. It is not Las Vegas but I think it compares favorably to AC. There is a direct bus between the port authority and the Casino but there aren’t too many of them. It is about 1:45 unless it makes a stop at newark airport on the way to PA and then you’re screwed.
The casino itself is fine – I’ve never seen it truely dead even midweek – my last trip in October had $10 blackjack tables paying 3:2 but $15 craps. Baccarat is rarely less than $50 hand. I never played there enough to get comps (more than a couple of food coupons at least) so I can’t speak to that.
There is a nice varied foodcourt right outside the casino and pricey restaurants inside the casino including a steak house a sports bar and a noodles place. I miss the Carnegie deli from Sands.
Bethlehem itself is a reasonably nice place with various places to go (bars and restaurants. If Bethlehem had a Caesars property I’d probably go there instead of AC. Would be tough to beat out Borgata.
